Pyracantha Yellow (Pyracantha Soleil D'or) is a large, thorny evergreen shrub of upright habit. It has light green leaves which are complemented by fluffy white, fragrant flowers in the spring and clusters of yellow berries in the autumn.
Also known as Firethorn, Pyracantha Yellow (Pyracantha Soleil D'or) is ideal for use as security hedging as it forms a dense, prickly hedge. It can also be trained up against a wall. Pyracantha Yellow is a tough, hardy shrub that is suitable for a range of demanding conditions including shaded and exposed positions. It also attracts an array of wildlife, in particular birds, due to its long-lasting yellow berries.
A fast growing hedge, Pyracantha Yellow (Pyracantha Soleil D'or) can achieve up to 50cm of growth per year, and has an ultimate height of 2.5 metres and an ultimate spread of 3 metres.
When growing Pyracantha Yellow (Pyracantha Soleil D'or) it will thrive best in well-drained, or moist, but well-drained, soil in full sun or partial shade.
