Pyracantha, also known commonly as Firethorn, is an evergreen plant excellent for use as security hedging. Pyracantha are notable for their distinctive, bright red, orange and yellow berries. Though they are similar to the Cotoneaster, Pyracanthas have numerous thorns and serrated leaf margins.
Pyracanthas can be trained as wall climbers or make excellent garden border edging, due to its attractive appearance and thorny coat. They are easy to maintain and can be planted in most environments, including both partial and direct sunlight and any well-drained soil type.
