Use for... a very prickly security hedge.

Growth rate... average 30cm per year.

Ideal hedge height... Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) (Sloe) can be kept between 90 and 300cm.

Situation & soil... good for mixing in native hedgerows and will grow in any reasonable soil. We recommend Rootgrow and Bonemeal when planting to get your new hedge off to a great start.

Plant description... these are one year old 60-80cm bare rooted plants, economical and easy to transport and plant. A typical bundle of these plants may be seen in the photo above.

Planting distance... for a Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) (Sloe) hedge we recommend three plants per metre for a single row and five plants per metre for a double staggered row or with these smaller plants 7 per metre.
