Privet Hedging Plants

Privet (Ligustrum) are large semi-evergreen plants suitable for dense, reasonably fast growing hedges. They are a very popular option for garden hedging, due to the attractive mild-green hue and resilient nature.

Privet (Ligustrum) are widely used in horticulture, and can be easily cultivated to create an ornamental hedge or foliage. During the spring, most Privet (Ligustrum) varieties produce small white flowers, with brightly coloured berries during the autumn. These berries are very popular with birds and wildlife and are a good way of creating a more lively garden.

Privet can be planted in direct sunlight but will also thrive in the shade. They are remarkable resilient species and can even tolerate poor soil. They can be planted in coastal and can generally also survive severe weather conditions and climates.
